I think that my presence in enclosed spaces automatically liberates anything small with wings. They say, screw it, I belong here just as much as she does, and fly around, disturbing the peace. Examples of this: the two flies in my car, who seem to have set up a permanent residence, and are probably just avoiding dying outside in the mildly cold weather. Bird (who has not been back since I decided I wanted to keep him). The bat at Robert's.
Oh, yeah.
We have a bat now.
When I close down at night, I'm afraid to straighten the stickers, because they squeak on their stands. I'm afraid Bat will swoop down and investigate, possibly thinking I'm something kindred.
Bats are scary, yo.
